Cuts cleanly through 18 ga stainless steel

Shear arrived well packaged, though the index tape was bent, crooked, cheap and clearly useless. The shear itself seems to work quite well. It left a clean cut on the Solarplate that I tested it with. I made a quick trip to Home Depot and purchased an $8 framing square and cut the short end off. There are three holes underneath where the index tape was glued on and I used those attach my new index guide (making sure to keep it square to the blade. BTW, the directions are basically useless beyond letting you know the blade has a coating that needs to be removed and then oiled before use.

I bought this cutter because cutting copper with shears hurts my arthritic fingers too much. The unit is a bit wobbly in the handle and blade adjustment, though easy enough to remedy with some shims. Must definitely be anchored to a solid surface, though I had to detach the blade section to access bolt holes for mounting. I've not bee able to get the blade adjusted perfectly since then. All-in-all, it is helpful for cutting and trimming thicker copper and brass sheet.

A workhorse of a machine. Cuts like butter

I own a lot of Vivot products for our craft shop and have not been disappointed with any of them yet. This year for the money is very surprising and what a step up from the bolt cutters and other cutting objects I used before.

Great for the value but had to bolt it down to cut material so not as portable as id have liked. Not sure it will cut as thick of material as advertised but It works good for what I use if for. I would buy it again. Good build quality. Price ea great.

As a career metal sculptor, I like using 12 gauge cold rolled sheet metal for area sculpting. This shear slices it clean, and I wonder where it’s been my whole life! Instead of plasma cutting, and then cleaning the cut, I just use this shear and in 2 seconds, the cut is clean and ready, with no smoke. I love it.
