we replaced the deck on the back of the house. It's only 23 inches high so it does not require a railing system. The wife requested a handrail on the steps so, I turned to the internet and found this item. It worked out very nicely.

This is a very sturdy handrail, and mounts solid. Do not, however use the included masonry drill bits; they are made of low-quality material, and not tempered well. I bought three handrail kits, and had worn out all three bits before I had installed the second. I got a good masonry bit, and the third installation was smooth and easy by comparison. The rails themselves, however, are great.
