I got tired of spending nearly $2 a gallon for distilled water, and often (when I needed it most) they didn't have any. This machine has already paid for itself, and now I'm making distilled water for roughly 40 cents per gallon (price of the electricity). In Indiana it seems I need to set the timer for 4hr and 10 minutes to leave just a little water in the tank. If you don't like having to reset the timer each time, you can leave it plugged in after the cycle, and it will start back up with the same setting on your next load. Unplugging the unit resets it back to the standard time setting. This machine does a great job of providing our family great water!

I have a simpler model earlier, just switch of and it switches off when no water remained. I was thinking of... it would be better if it switches off before the water is completely evaporated. It would be more ideal as not all scale ends at the button of the container and wont be burned onto it by higher than 100 Celsius. I was thinking maybe using a timer I can achieve it. And here it is, the timer works perfectly, it leaves a small amount of water at the button of the container, very good.

Ce distillateur est facile d'utilisation pour produire toute l'eau distillée dont j'ai besoin au quotidien. En pratique, j'ai fini par opter pour l'utilisation des paramètres d'usine par défaut, c'est-à-dire 105°C et 3H30 : en remplissant le réservoir jusqu'à la limite max, j'obtiens environ 3,5 litres d'eau distillée tandis qu'il reste un bon fond d'eau chaude, ce qui évite que les minéraux dont le tartre ne se cristallisent et déposent sur le fond d'un réservoir à sec. Toutes les 2 distillations ayant produit environ 7 litres d'eau distillée, je procède à un nettoyage de la cuve du réservoir à l'aide de produit détartrant : ce qui me laisse une cuve impeccable, propre et brillante comme sortie d'usine. Je recommande vivement à chaque cabinet dentaire pourvu de stérilisateurs de classe B professionnels, extrêmement exigeants sur la qualité de l'eau de remplissage.

I bought this product because my botanical humidifiers were leaving calcium dust all over the house, due to our highly calcified water. Even through the filter in the refrigerator they would always leave white dust. On smooth surfaces and mirrors. I was going to make a still, or distillation apparatus until I saw this. It’s cheaper than I could make a proper one for, even considering I own some glassware. It makes a batch faster than advertised, so I was able to make a stockpile quickly. Even at 96 degrees, just above the minimum boiling point of water at my 4400 feet elevation, it does what it’s supposed to do and so far seems to be well built and reliable. Much better than the still I made in college! I wish additional receiving containers were available for purchase, as they are a good size and are suitable for 1 gallon or 4 L loads. The timer will allow you to stop a session midway and resume it again. However, it always defaults to 3 1/2 hours when it’s done or unplugged. I wish it would allow you to save your own default time, but it does retain your temperature setting no matter what. I find the default setting as adequate, but sometimes I want to top it off. Those are minor quibbles for a device at its price point,, and I don’t expect it to have them to be a great product. It punches above its weight, and I figure it will pay for itself in 8 weeks feeding several humidifiers and other household needs. I would prefer to make what I need, but what I needed was cheap distilled water. So that’s what I make now this well designed machine.

Egyedüli problémát az okoz, hogy a műanyag kannát elég körülményes a maga tölcsérével együtt a kifolyó cső alá pontosan behelyezni. A műanyag kanna szájnyílásának a kiképzése sorjás, ami a lezárást nehezíti. Amikor befejeződött a lepárlás, a felső rész eltávolítása kissé nehézkes, mert a tartály egységen nincsen megfogási lehetőség annak a stabilan tartására. Ezért legalább 3 kézre lenne szükség a gyors szétválasztáshoz. Mindezektől függetlenül megfelelően használható a háztartásomban.

Works as advertised. Very pleased. We use distilled water in a few different appliances including my wife's iron 😉 Good product!

Používam na čistenie vody pre domáce použitie. A hlavne na sous vide na čo je úplne super. I use it to purify water for home use. And especially for sous vide, which is absolutely great.
