I am using the heater in a 2400 sq. ft. shop. Running on lowest sitting it uses about one gallon of fuel per twelve hours. I live in northern Alabama, when the temperature dropped into the lower 20's F it kept the shop in the upper 40's/ low 50's.
I use it unvented, there is no smoke and virtually no smell. Also I am using #2 diesel.
My ventless propane heater has more of an odor. So I would speculate it has near 100% combustion.

I really like this heater, if the tarped carport that I am using for a winter workshop had more insulating value, it would heat it with no problems. I used this heater in my wooden shed workshop and it gets is nice and toasty.
at least this was one of the things I ordered that got delivered without any issues, I have already had two packages that the delivery driver failed to get to my house, and I live in a city development.
