good sturdy cage, good mechanism.

Some years back I had rabbits running wild in my backyard. There was almost as much rabbit poop to pick up as dog poop, and I had two dogs. When I rebuilt my fence I decided rabbit proof the back yard. Everybody laughed that it was impossible but I built a good neighbor fence with alternating boards on either side of the stringers. I put 2 feet of chicken wire between the boards and 1 foot flat on the ground. It's been 6 or 7 years with no rabbits. That is until about a month ago. One little guy, not very old, found his way through and was sitting in the centre of my lawn having a feast. VEVOR to the rescue. It took a couple of days but I caught him, took him around to the front of the house and let him go. Haven't seen him since.

Works very well - providing your read and follow instructions. Caught the squirrel within 3 days. A small dish (2" bottle cap) with peanut butter placed properly is irresistible. Good riddance of this destructive critter...

Bought the trap about a month ago. Pros: Perfect size for badger, fox or smaller game like hare or rabbit. Easy to set up besides the instructions not being so clear. Cons: difficult to bate since you have to do it from the main hatch. No bate tray. The trigger plate is of very thin metal and got destroyed like tinfoil in the catch process by an angry badger. The latch on the door can get misaligned and not lock in place if triggered. Overall it preformed good but now it needs repairs and no spear pats available.

Flimsier than I have come to expect from VEVOR. The bar that connects the plate to the release is not permanently attached and shakes loose quite easily. The ring to pull the gate release will come off in your hand.

Matériel fragile

Problème : la tige qui relie la pédale au loquet était manquante dans le colis. J'ai bricolé une tige comme je pouvais. Le loquet pourrait être localisé à un autre endroit sur la porte pour améliorer le déclenchement. Pour le moment, la cage ne piège que des hérissons que je relâche dès qu'ils ont bien mangé tout l'apât.

trap door was bent when received. Took me 15 minutes to remove and straighten it out. Would have been nice to get some kind of credit. It does work good. Caught 10 squirrels and dropped them way back in the woods and haven't seen a squirrel for a couple of weeks now. Trap mechanism is a bit finicky. -1 star for bent door and -1 for finicky trigger mechanism.
