Solid base, to date have only used once fairly quiet and extremely cold . Do hope it last the test of time.

Hands down this is the most powerful fan I've ever purchased. The all metal construction must attribute to the vortex of wind that it produces at all speeds. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Great air mover, even on the lowest of 3 speeds. Using it in my 30’ x 40’ workshop. With it standing at the 30’ side wall it moves the air at the far side wall 40’ away even on the low speed. The front and back sides of the fan blade safety cage are fastened with quick clips for easy removal for cleaning the blades. The noise level of the fan blades moving the high volume airflow is very reasonable and only requires a small adjustment to the radio volume to be heard over the fan. When I received the fan and removed the motor from the package it appeared to have a large dent in the housing of the motor, however the paint was not cracked or chipped so it may be just in the design of the housing. It did not affect the fan operation at all. The control box for the fan speeds and oscillating on and off hang by a cord which makes for easy access even while the fan is on and oscillating. I ‘m retired and have been using it daily while working in my shop. So far I am very pleased with the fan. Have only had it for a month and will have to wait and see how long it will will last under daily use. The pedestal base is made of metal and is 24” round providing a very stable base. The first vertical tube attaches to the base with five 10mm socket screws or Phillips screw driver. The second vertical will raise the center of the fan to a height of 5’ and an overall fan height of 72” (6’) and is held in place by compression clamp that has shown no sign of any slippage.
