I bought this as a joke to see if this would out perform my $300 rod reel setup for Rockfish and Lingcod fishing. I was skeptical because we do get snags alot and I was for sure certain I would break it on 1st trip. I strung this up with 30lb braid and Reel holds almost 200 ft which is perfect because I fish 80 ft normally. Well I threw my 2oz jighead out with a swimbait and got into some great action. What I liked is I could actually feel the hits a lot sooner as my best ocean setup. Lingcod are great fighters so I put this pole to the ultimate test. I also ran 2 additional hooks. Results are in. It can handle the 2 fish at a time test Approx 15-20lbs at a time! Also handled the occasional snag just fine. I am sure this would bring up the 30lb fish also. Thoroughly impressed since I have really improved my catch and have this new outlook on ocean fishing!

I think for the price you can pick up this rod and reel is pretty good. Rod feels nice, and the reel seems adequate. My biggest complaint is how much line it says it holds. It said it would hold x amount of a specific line diameter. I put that exact line diameter on it and was like 40 yards short. Thinking that maybe I put it on to loose, I unstrung it and reeled it on as tight as humanly possible and it returned to the same fullness as before. Its possible you could of got those 40 extra yards on there but it would of been wayyyyyyyy over full. Not a huge deal, just less line capacity unless you went with a smaller diameter line.

The rod has been ordered for 2 months nearly and still showing waiting to ship. WHY OFFER SOMETHING IF YOU CANT SUPPLY IT . All the fish will be drowned by time I get fishing pole
